Brown County students were able to watch live performances from around the world in their schools in March.
Brown County Schools partnered with the Lotus Education & Arts Foundation to host “Lotus Blossoms” performances at all of the schools.
Dance of Hope, a group of Ugandan children, performed at Brown County High School, the junior high (with intermediate school students visiting), Helmsburg Elementary and Sprunica Elementary schools on March 27 and 28. The children, ages 12 to 18, are orphaned, displaced or had been living in poverty. The children live, attend school and practice together. This was the first time most of them had been in the United States.
Van Buren Elementary School hosted the Kardemimmit. Kardemimmit is a quartet of Finnish singers who play the Kantele, a traditional Finnish plucked string instrument.
