Where’s There: Clang, clang clang went the trolley

Good morning, afternoon and evening, Brown County! If you don’t know me by now, I am the local rambler— in more ways than one.

This week’s location is right around the corner from last week’s and in the heart of Nashville. If you’re in the mood for pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs or a lemon shake-up, you might find yourself here on a hot day. This little restaurant reminds me of a 200-year-old trolley I rode on through the town of Sóller, Spain. It holds similar nostalgia, except this one serves you lunch and won’t make you car sick.

While I wish we could have more public transportation options available in the United States, our visitors are lucky that they have the Nashville Express to take them through our historic town. For now, we have the express and this stationary trolley. And if that’s all we get for the time being, I’ll make my peace with it.

Think you know where I am this week? Send us an email at [email protected] or stop by our office with your guess in-person. One random person will be chosen to win their very own copy of 175 Years of Brown County.

Last week I stumped many of you with my location. We had one correct guess that I was at the Copperhead Creek Gem Mine. Congratulations Sharon Roth, you are getting good at this game! Thanks for always playing along. Come on down to our office during regular hours (M-F, 9-5) to pick up your copy of 175 Years of Brown County and get a photo with me. We’re out and about a lot, so you might want to call ahead of time (988-2221) to make sure I’m here!

For all of our past winners who have yet to pick up their books, I am hoarding them like a dragon in her nest— or should I say an Eagle? That would be more fitting. Make sure you stop by to pick up your copies before you miss your chance!
