The Brown County Eagles boys basketball team dropped its opener to Waldron 52-48.
The Eagles, who led most of the game after storming back from a 10-0 hole to start the contest, had opportunities to pull off the victory, but the senior-laden Mohawks scored two 3-pointers down the stretch while Brown County missed its key shots.
Seniors Steven Norman and Tony Goral led the Eagles in scoring. Norman’s deadeye shooting resulted in 24 points, while Goral’s fearless drives in the paint earned him 14.
Next, the Eagles play Western Indiana Conference opponent Sullivan Nov. 30 on the road. That contest follows the junior varsity game, which tips off at 6:30 p.m.
