Brown County grad serving as Senate intern
INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana University graduate Campbell Ricci is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2016 legislative session.
Ricci, a resident of Nashville, is the son of Lewis and Margaret Ricci. He graduated from Indiana University in May 2015 with a degree in economics and Spanish.
As a legislative intern for Sen. Ryan Mishler (R-Bremen) and the Senate’s fiscal team, Ricci corresponds with constituents, helps take notes on each meeting of the Senate Committee on Tax and Fiscal Policy, and completes caucus reports for each meeting of the Committee on Appropriations.
“It has been extremely rewarding to learn more about the legislative process in the midst of all the action,” Ricci said. “Not only has this been a great learning experience, but this opportunity to serve my fellow Hoosiers is something I will carry with me for many years to come.”

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which should end by Monday, March 14.
Junior high choir students sing in festival
COLUMBUS — On Feb. 13, 25 Brown County Junior High School students participated in the Circle the State with Song Choir Festival at Columbus North High School, performing a concert with select middle school choir students from all over south-central Indiana.
The students rehearsed all day with guest conductor Tanya Angle and performed an afternoon concert for a packed house, said BCJHS choir director Amy Smith.
The festival is hosted by the Indiana Music Education Association. Columbus was one of 12 sites across the state of Indiana hosting this festival.
BCJHS students performing were Lily Anderson, Sarah Barrett, Whlah Brahaum, Jade Crouse, Laurel Daugherty, Haley Davidson, Joey Drew, Trista Fields, Kristina Fowler, William Gaither, Thomas Hebert, Quentin Heltman, Logan Huddleston, Ashley Miller,Jaden Minor, Gracelyn Patton, Samantha Perkins, Ariyanna Phillips, Evelyn Pool, Elizabeth Reeves, Kat Richardson, Elijah Rockhold, Kennedy Seitz, Andy Slutz and Sabrina Stierwalt.
Junior high students volunteer as pages
INDIANAPOLIS — State Rep. Eric Koch (R-Bedford) welcomed Brown County Junior High School students Delaney Hobbs and Caleb Yager to the Statehouse to serve as House pages.
They toured government offices, helped staff with daily duties and joined Koch on the House floor.

Dena Dunn
FRANKLIN — Dena I. Dunn, daughter of Mike and Valerie Dunn of Nashville, was named to the dean’s list at Franklin College for fall 2015 semester. To qualify, a student must have achieved academic distinction by earning a 3.5 grade point average or above.
Matthew Allen
MARION — Matthew Allen of Brown County was named to the dean’s list at Indiana Wesleyan University during the fall 2015 semester. To qualify, a student must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale.
A 2015 graduate of Brown County High School, Allen studies painting and intercultural studies.
