Wesley Luke Neely, 26, of Bloomington, died at his residence Wednesday, March 30, 2016.

A beloved son, brother, and friend, he was born Dec. 21, 1989, in Bloomington to his devoted parents, the late Robert “Bob” Neely and Lesilyn Swain Neely.

Luke attended Bloomington High School North where he played football. He worked for Casey Management Group and Castle Mulch and Nursery. He attended Bloomington Free Methodist Church.

Luke was a deeply caring young man with a huge heart and shining smile who enjoyed spending time with those he loved the most.

Surviving family members include his mother, Lesilyn Swain Neely of Bloomington; a sister, Hannah (Austin) Neely McCuiston of Baltimore, Maryland; maternal grandmother, Margaret Swain of Nashville; four aunts, Christanne (Gene) Traxler of Sharpsville, Davida Kean and Sylvia (Steve) Shroyer, both of Nashville, and Gwenyth (Vince Dolan) Swain of Holliston, Massachusetts; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Henry Swain and Robert and Grace Neely.

The family received friends April 2 at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard in Bloomington. A memorial service followed at the chapel with Pastor Mel Nead officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Shop With a Cop, payable to F.O.P. Lodge No. 88, P.O. Box 1561, Bloomington, IN 47402.
