Delay requested in attempted murder case

A new team of lawyers is representing a Brown County man charged with attempted murder and they’ve asked to delay his trial.

Law firm Baldwin Kyle and Kamish represents Kenneth Wayne Guy, 58. According to online court records, public defender Alicia Allen requested a new attorney be assigned. Public defender Roy Graham was appointed as alternate counsel on Dec. 9, but Graham declined the job the same day.

His jury trial date was Jan. 3; a new date has not been set as of press time. A bond review hearing was scheduled for Dec. 22.

Guy was arrested Sept. 7 after police say he attacked his younger brother, David Guy, at his brother’s home in Bean Blossom Sept. 6 while David was sitting on his front porch. David Guy received serious injuries.

Kenneth Guy has been in the Brown County jail since.

Kenneth Guy also is facing charges of aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony; criminal recklessness, a Level 6 felony; and resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor.
