Suspect accused of hitting victim

A Morgantown man was charged with misdemeanor battery after a man told police he had punched him in the head.

Christopher Powell, 22, was charged July 17 with battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor.

The victim told police that Powell had punched him in the head and complained of pain on July 8.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht reported seeing redness to the left side of the victim’s face and a cut to his forehead and arm, the probable cause affidavit.
