Two 911 calls and a crash resulted in the arrest of a Kentucky man July 22.

Police responded to the 3600 block of State Road 46 East at around 12:30 a.m. According to a probable cause affidavit by Nashville Police Officer Michael Williams, two 911 calls were made to dispatch about the vehicle.

The driver, William Thompson, 29, of Adolphus, Kentucky, admitted to being the driver. Williams reported smelling alcohol on Thompson, that his speech was slurred, his eyes were bloodshot, his manual dexterity was poor and that he swayed and almost fell during the stop. He also noted that Thompson was uncooperative, could not open his door, staggered from the vehicle and leaned against it during the stop.

He failed three field tests. A breath test determined his blood-alcohol content to be 0.23, almost three times the legal limit of 0.08, the affidavit states.

Thompson was charged July 24 with operating a vehicle while intoxicated — endangering a person, Class A misdemeanor; operating a vehicle with an ACE of 0.15 or more, Class A misdemeanor; and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, Class C misdemeanor.
