Two injured in crash on Center Lake Road

CORDRY-SWEETWATER — At least two people were injured the afternoon of Nov. 20 when an Indianapolis woman crossed the center line on Center Lake Road.

Wayne C. Barnett, 75, Columbus, was northbound on Center Lake near Buffalo Drive when Christy E. Fall, 65, Indianapolis, drove left of center and struck him on the driver’s side, according to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Vernon McGaha.

The collision caused Barnett’s vehicle to go into the yard of a home in the 8300 block of Center Lake Road. The impact happened near the intersection with Beaver Drive, the report said.

Barnett had one passenger, who was not named in the report.

Fall admitted she was at fault and had gone left of center, the report said.

Fall’s injury status was marked “unknown” in the report, but she required immediate attention for a complaint of chest pain. She was wearing a seat belt, the report states.

Barnett was taken to a hospital by ambulance for treatment of shoulder/upper arm pain. He also was wearing a seat belt.

The condition of his passenger was not listed in the report.

Both vehicles were towed.
