PEOGA — A man had to be flown to a hospital after the propane tanker he was driving crashed over the weekend.

The single-vehicle crash happened at around 3:50 p.m. Dec. 16 on Sweetwater Trail just south of the intersection with Peoga Road. The driver was trapped and had to be extricated, said Indiana State Trooper William Patterson.

Patterson reported that the man was in his 50s, but he said he could not release his exact age, name or where he was from because the crash is still under investigation.

The extent of the man’s injuries or the cause of the crash are also not reportable at this time, he said.

Patterson also did not release the name of the propane company involved.

The propane tanker was on its side and there was some leakage, Patterson said.

Sweetwater Trail was shut down for several hours as emergency crews cleaned up the scene and the truck was slowly righted.
