Donate blood at church next week
The American Red Cross will offer a blood donation opportunity from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10 at Parkview Church of the Nazarene, 1750 State Road 46 East.
Make an appointment by downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
Ride bus to sites for progressive dinner
A progressive dinner will take place through Nashville from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13. Transportation to each site will be provided by Nashville General Express bus, beginning and ending at the Seasons Lodge, 560 State Road 46 East.
The event costs $80. It is part of Winter in the Woods celebrations in Brown County.
Guests will board the bus at The Seasons and ride to Hard Truth Hills, Nashville’s newest distillery, then visit the Bird’s Nest Cafe at 36 W. Franklin St. for appetizers, the Artists Colony Inn for soup and salad, and back to The Seasons for a main course and two sides, followed by homemade desserts.

Try yoga at brewery during Winter in the Woods
On Sunday, Jan. 14, Winter in the Woods program participants can spend 90 minutes doing yoga with Patty Donaldson upstairs in Big Woods Village, then end the session with a pint of Big Woods beer. The session lasts from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14 and costs $20 per person.

Talk to a lawyer for free at the library
The Brown County Public Library will host free, short, legal consultations between 3 and 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15.
Local attorneys will volunteer their time to help with legal questions on a first-come, first-served basis. The program is sponsored by Legal Aid District 11.
For those who speak Spanish, a helpline will also be available statewide during the same time at 1-800-266-2581.

The Brown County Purdue Extension will host its annual Ag Day breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at the fairgrounds Exhibit Building, 802 Memorial Drive.

Health and wellness center opens Jan. 23
A new primary care clinic will open at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23 at Brown County Schools’ Eagle Park, 1749 State Road 46 East near Brown County State Park. It will remain open until 4 p.m. that day.
The clinic will be open to anyone who pays a monthly membership fee. That fee will cover clinic visits and many medications and lab procedures.
A grand opening celebration will take place in the Goldberg Room at Brown County High School from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29.

Raptor center requests sheets, towels
Indiana Raptor Center Inc., the bird of prey rehabilitation center in Nashville, is in need of clean, used sheets, pillowcases and towels.
Donations of these items can be dropped off at the raptor center any afternoon by appointment, as the center is closed for tours until March 1. Call 812-988-8990 for directions and to notify personnel of your arrival.
The center also accepts cash donations to help feed animals in its care.

Teen Time meets at library WednesdaysÂ
Teens are welcome to hang out, play games, make crafts, talk about books and do homework during Teen Time at the Brown County Public Library, Wednesday afternoons through December. A snack is included.

Youth program meets Wednesdays at Baptist church
HAMBLEN TWP. — A program for children and teens at Unity Baptist Church begins with a meal served at 6 p.m. Wednesdays.
For children ages 4 through high school, the Word of Life program includes a singing challenge, Scripture memorization and study, socializing and games. With an emphasis on “foundational truths from the Bible,” the program meets weekly through the school year at the church, 7361 Spearsville Road.

Young adult group meets Fridays
The Young Adult Hangout group meets at 6:30 p.m. most Friday nights for dinner, fellowship and spiritual discussion.
