Coach’s comments: The freshman Eagles took to the hardwood against WIC East foe, the Edgewood Mustangs. The Mustangs defeated the Eagles 58-32. The Eagles were led in scoring by Nolan Patterson with 13 and Dalton Hedrick with 9 points. This was the most complete game played by Dalton, as he also had 7 rebounds. The Eagles will take on the warriors of Whiteland on Thursday, Jan. 11 at Larry C. Banks Memorial Gymnasium at 6 p.m.

Coach’s comments: The Eagles pulled out a solid win on the road at Crothersville 60-56. The home team came out hot and Brown County struggled to get a score early on, as the Eagles trailed early 6-16 after the first quarter. But a second-quarter surge led by Abigail Hollander’s three 3s helped the visitors get within 3 at the half. The torrid shooting continued into the third quarter as Brown County opened with an 11-4 run to take the lead. But Crothersville responded with a 9-0 run themselves to reclaim the advantage. Once again, Brown County had its own response, as the team closed the quarter on a 8-2 run to take a 1-point advantage into the final frame. Timely shooting, solid defense, and a few clutch free throws helped the Eagles cling to a slim lead throughout the final quarter and finish off the victory.
