Norman ‘Mac’ McCormick

ELLENTON, FLA.

Norman J. “Mac” McCormick, 81, of Ellenton Florida, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Florida.

The Rev. Lynette Carlson will officiate a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 at Unity of Bloomington, 4001 S. Rogers St. in Bloomington, Indiana.

Norm was born Dec. 12, 1936, in New York, New York, to Jean McCormick and Janet King McNary. He married Patricia A. Miller June 10, 1954, in Indianapolis.

Norm was a 1954 graduate of George Washington High School, Indianapolis. He was a retired iron worker and a member of Iron Workers Union Local 22. He was a former member and past president of the Brown County Lions Club, and former commissioner of Brown County. He was an avid outdoorsman, accomplished artist, lover of animals and his family.

Norm was preceded in death by both parents; a brother, Robert McCormick of California; and daughter, Dawn McCormick of Colorado.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia McCormick of Ellenton, Florida; his brother, Charles McNary of Seattle, Washington; children, Scott (Jody) McCormick and Kelli Eastridge, both of Nashville, Indiana, Rocky (Sabine) McCormick of Copenhagen, Denmark, Tiffany (Sherry Thompson) of Sarasota, Florida, and Beverly McCormick of Shoals, Indiana; grandchildren, Bridget Hardin Daily, Lori Minett, Drew Minett, Brent Eastridge, Cortney Phillips, Brady Eastridge, Cody McCormick, Mikayla Thompson, Isabella McCormick, Zack Thompson and Ella McCormick; and 16 great-grandchildren.
