Traffic stop leads to drug charges

A Freetown woman faces two misdemeanors for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia after a traffic stop in Brown County April 9.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Williams stopped a vehicle driven by Elizabeth S. Wheatcraft, 31, for driving left of center. When he approached the vehicle he could smell fresh marijuana coming from it, his report says.

Williams reported finding a multi-colored glass smoking bowl and less than 30 grams of marijuana in the vehicle.

Wheatcraft was issued a summons. She was charged on May 7 with possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
