SPEARSVILLE — A 17-year-old driver was released after being checked out for head pain from a crash on Spearsville Road June 14. Police say speed was a factor.

The crash happened just before 6 p.m. near the intersection with Twinlake Road, according to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Colton Magner.

The driver, Christopher S. Greene, of Brown County, was out of the inverted vehicle when police arrived. Deputy Austin Schonfeld arrived on scene before Magner and reported that Greene had told him he was driving too fast before he lost control, the accident report states.

Magner reported the vehicle was southbound on Spearsville Road exiting a curve when it left the road. A witness driving northbound reported that the vehicle appeared to be “driving at a high-rate of speed” and overcorrected after leaving the road, the report states.

Greene then overcorrected again when the vehicle came back on the road. The witness reported the vehicle left the road once again, drove into an embankment and flipped at least twice before resting, the police report said.

The vehicle was towed. Greene was checked by EMS before being released to his mother. It was marked “unknown” in Magner’s report if Greene had been wearing a seat belt or not.
