OWI charges filed against driver of scooter

JACKSON TWP. — A man driving a scooter on Morrison Road was arrested June 30 on drunken driving charges.

Joseph Richardson, 43, of Owl Creek Road, was stopped at about 7:20 p.m. in the 3400 block. Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy William Pool wrote that Richardson smelled of alcohol, his speech was slurred, his eyes were red/watery and he was swaying. A breath test showed his blood-alcohol content at 0.12, over the legal limit of 0.08.

He was charged July 2 with operating a vehicle while intoxicated — endangering a person and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, both misdemeanors.
