Police: Man shoved, punched victim

A Moorseville man has been charged with battery in Brown County after police say he punched a person in the face on June 23.

The location of the incident was not listed in the report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Austin Schonfeld.

Schonfeld reported that Richard W. Packard, 39, had grabbed the victim, shoved the person to the ground and punched them in the face, causing a black eye. Packard admitted to Nashville Police Officer William Pruitt that he did it, the police report said.

Packard was charged June 27 with a Class B misdemeanor.
