Man injured in one-vehicle crash on Hoover Road

A local man was taken to the hospital after a one-vehicle crash late Monday night on Hoover Road.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Eggebrecht arrived in the 500 block of Hoover Road at about 11:30 p.m. and found the driver, Bradley Strausburg, 64, of Lucas Hollow Road, sitting in wet grass about 100 yards south of his Ford F-150.

Eggebrecht wrote in his accident report that Strausburg was unable to answer basic questions and was extremely unsteady on his feet. He saw a small cut on top of his head.

In the short conversation the officer was able to have with the driver, he told him he swerved to the right when driving south on Hoover Road to miss an oncoming car and dropped two tires off the road, and wasn’t able to get back on the road, the report said.

Eggebrecht wrote that the truck was facing south on Hoover Road and it had damage to the passenger side. He saw a tree with fresh damage to it and tire tracks leading up to it in the grass.

The driver was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital due to his confusion, the report said. The truck was towed.
