Fishers man injured in crash on 46 East

BELMONT — A young Fishers man was injured in a crash on State Road 46 East after his vehicle ran off the road near Bambi Lane Oct. 1.

Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Briles found the driver, Carter Hoffman, 18, in a vehicle off the north side of the road just before 8:15 a.m.

The officer noted that Hoffman appeared to be fatigued or asleep. He appeared to be in stable condition and was not trapped, the report said. Because the driver was not in any immediate danger, Briles waited until EMS arrived before removing him from the vehicle.

Hoffman had a small cut on one of his fingers that was bleeding and a small amount of blood on his face near his right ear, the report said.

Once Hoffman was out of the vehicle, he was taken by ambulance to to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital for assessment of any other injuries. His vehicle was towed. He was wearing a seat belt.
