Fishers officer seriously injured in Brown County crash

A Fishers police officer was seriously injured after the motorcycle he and his wife were riding crashed on State Road 135 North Oct. 6.

Binh Dennis, 48, was driving a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle south in the 3600 block of 135 North when he entered a right curve and the motorcycle’s exhaust made contact with the pavement, causing him to lose control, according to a press release from Josh Stargell, public information officer for the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

The motorcycle crossed the north lane and struck a tree on the east side of the road, the release states.

Binh Dennis was on the bike when it crashed into the tree. His wife, Mary Dennis, 49, was ejected before impact, according to the release.

Binh Dennis was taken by a medical helicopter to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with serious injuries.

Mary Dennis was taken by ambulance to Community South Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

They were not wearing helmets, Stargell said in an email Oct. 9.

The crash remains under investigation.
