Motorcycle driver injured in Sweetwater Trail crash

GATESVILLE — A 72-year-old Pendleton man was taken to the hospital after the motorcycle he was driving flipped in a crash on Sweetwater Trail yesterday.

The crash happened just after 12:15 p.m. near Gatesville Road, reported Sgt. Scott Bowling with the Brown County Sheriff’s Department.

James McNabb was driving south on Sweetwater Trail when he approached an S-curve. Bowling wrote that McNabb may have been driving too fast when he approached the curve and he ran off the road.

The motorcycle flipped more than once and McNabb was ejected, the report said. He was wearing a helmet.

He was taken to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital by ambulance for a fracture/dislocation in his chest area, the report states. His motorcycle was towed.
