Quite a show: Show choirs bring home competition awards

Brown County High School’s show choirs made a big showing at recent competitions.

Women’s group Serenade and coed choir Rhapsody both placed sixth in the Circle City Showcase at Warren Central High School on Feb. 23. Fourteen mixed groups and 12 women’s groups competed.

The show choir band, In Blue, was named Best Band for both performances.

Emma McClintock was named Best Performer for Serenade and Joey Drew was named Best Performer for Rhapsody.

At the Lafayette Jefferson Xtreme Show Choir Showdown on March 2, Rhapsody took third place. Airiona Decker was named Outstanding Performer for Serenade and Quentin Heltman was named Outstanding Performer for Rhapsody. Again, In Blue was named Best Band of the day.

At the Shelbyville Singing Sensational on March 9, Rhapsody won second place, Best Band and Best Costumes. Serenade won third place and Best Crew.

The choirs are led by Kristi Billings and Dan Lyng.
