Jackie D. Law, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 31, 2019, at his home in Morgantown.

He was born Oct. 31, 1933, in Holland, Kentucky, to the late Roy Elvis and Laura Catherine (Meador) Law. Jackie served as a Specialist Third Class with the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He married Monell Ray (Meador) Law on March 6, 1954, in Georgia; she preceded him in death on Jan. 17, 2018, after 63 devoted years of marriage.

Jackie was also preceded in death by siblings, Regeneau (Charles) Tapp, Cillous (Ruby) and Norman (Betty Jean) Law; sister-in-law, Louise Law; and a granddaughter, Miranda Law.

He is survived by his children, Julie A. (Phillip) Richards, Glen A. (Diana) Law, both of Morgantown, Tim L. (Carolyn) Law of Worthington and Lane (Jodie) Law of Morgantown; brothers, Milton Law, Eddie (Joyce) Law and Danny (Judy) Law, all of Brown County; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Jackie retired in 1991 as a forklift operator for General Motors Truck and Bus plant in Indianapolis after 27 years of service. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union, Local 23 in Indianapolis.

Jackie loved living on his family farm in the hills of Brown County. He enjoyed raising all kinds of farm animals, from chickens and goats to cattle and horses. Jackie loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Revs. James Brown and Ken Smith will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 5, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, with military honors presented by the United States Army.
