Motorcycle driver, passenger injured in crash at park

A couple from Danville was injured in a motorcycle crash at Brown County State Park over the weekend.

The crash on the park’s main road near the Abe Martin Lodge road was reported just after 9 a.m. Sept. 8, according to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Horn.

The driver, Eric Quick, 51, told police he was riding south on the main road when he looked back for a moment, and when he looked forward again, the car in front of him had stopped. Quick said he slammed on his brakes and went into a slide, causing the motorcycle to go down.

Neither Quick nor his passenger, Tina Quick, 49, were wearing helmets.

Tina Quick sustained a head injury, but was alert. Eric had a shoulder injury. Both were taken by ambulance to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital, the report states.
