Helmsburg laundromat closing next month
HELMSBURG — Helmsburg Laundry will no longer be a laundromat after March 15.
The business, at 2349 State Road 45, will be turned into apartments, said Erika Bryenton, managing broker of Brye Real Estate.
Raymond Pitcher bought the property in October 2019. Bryenton has worked with Pitcher recently on real estate projects in the Helmsburg area.
Sunday, March 15 will be the last day Helmsburg Laundry will be open for business.
There is still a laundromat on Chestnut Street in Nashville.
“Thank you to all those who have supported the business in years past, through both the current and prior owners,” Bryenton wrote in the closing announcement. “We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause patrons, but appreciate your understanding.”
Centra Credit Union now open in Nashville
Centra Credit Union’s new full-service branch in is now open at 189 Commercial St. in Nashville.
Visitors can stop by any time during the week of March 2-6 for a chance to win prizes and giveaways. A grand opening celebration will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 4.
“Since we have been open, our team has had the pleasure of meeting many Brown County community members,” Branch Manager Jill Beck said. “We invite everyone in the area to stop in and to celebrate with us, and we look forward to deepening our relationships within the community.”
Centra is the only credit union in Brown County. Visitors to the Nashville branch will be able to do regular banking as well as schedule appointments with mortgage lenders, business services representatives and advisers from Centra Financial Services. Centra is among the five largest credit unions in Indiana.
The Nashville branch is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Drive-through service is available.
