Brown County IGA to be closed this weekend

All stores owned by Houchens Food Group, including the IGA store in Nashville, will be closed for Easter Sunday, April 12.

“The day will offer each employee a much-deserved day of rest and time to spend with their loved ones,” said a release from Houchens. “The store teams have been incredible and we can’t thank them enough for the dedication and commitment in serving their communities during this unprecedented and difficult time.”

Brown County Water Utility’s hours change

Brown County Water Utility has begun operating with a minimum staff, splitting staff into teams and working on rotation to mitigate the possibility of a full staff quarantine and to ensure the continuation of utility operations.

“It is very important that we make every attempt to keep our employees healthy, so we may keep the water supply flowing for the health and safety of our community,” a statement from the office said. “Considering that CDC’s first piece of advice to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to frequently wash your hands with soap and water, BCWU employees are critical essential workers.”

Office hours are Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The office lobby is closed to the public. The drive-up window is also now closed to the public.

Customers are to use the night depository to drop off paperwork and payments and the online bill payment option in order to follow the stay-at-home order.
