August calendar for senior center

SPEARSVILLE — Hickory Ridge Civic League and Community Center, 2314 Hickory Ridge Lane, is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays, with lunch at 11:30 a.m.

Thursday, Aug. 6: Seniors will be eating out at either Brownie’s or the Artist Colony Inn and will be leaving Hickory Ridge at 10 a.m.

Thursday, Aug. 13: A potluck lunch with card games and puzzles will be at the senior center from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 15: A sausage gravy and biscuits breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m.

Thursday, Aug. 20: Card games and exercises will be offered as well as a nurse’s visit during the potluck lunch from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 27: Card games and a potluck lunch will accompany a 48-state flag presentation from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
