Two flown out from crash on 135 North at county line

BROWN-MORGAN COUNTY LINE — State Road 135 North at the county line was closed for more than three hours on Aug. 12 for a crash that resulted in two drivers being flown to the hospital.

The two-vehicle crash was reported just before 1 p.m. near the Brown-Morgan County line.

Vicki Overley, 61, Indianapolis was driving south on 135 North when she crossed the center line for an unknown reason and struck a northbound vehicle driven by Matthew Price, 32, Greenwood, according to Indiana State Police Trooper Chris Griggs.

Both drivers were flown by two different helicopters to the hospital. Overley was going to be treated for internal injuries along with an arm and leg injury. Price had a broken leg and a laceration on his arm, according to Griggs.

Accident reconstructionists had the road closed for more than three hours as they processed the scene.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Department, Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, Morgantown Police Department, Columbus Regional Hospital Ambulance, Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department, Morgantown Volunteer Fire Department and ambulance also assisted at the scene.

Toxicology results are pending.
