Gary G. Zink, 69, of Brown County, passed from this life at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2020 at the home of his son in Brown County
Mr. Zink was born May 14, 1951, in Columbus, the son of Gerald G. and LaVaughn V. Clark Zink.
Gary was owner-operator of Zink Construction and was formerly employed with Smitherman Construction.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and Columbus Moose Lodge #398.
He was a 1970 graduate of Columbus High School, a 1972 graduate of Wabash Junior College and attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.
He enjoyed wood working, horseshoe pitching, horse riding and watching Bonanza and Gunsmoke.
Survivors include his children, Sydney (Michael) Reed of Nashville and Gabe (Emily) Zink of Brown County; grandchildren, Baron and Jaxson Reed; sister, Sherry Shunate of Florida; and his former wife, Beth Zink of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with the Rev. Mark Teike officiating.
Family and friends may call from 1 p.m. to time of service Friday at the funeral home.
We do ask that visitors follow the social distancing guidelines once inside the funeral home and masks are required.
In keeping with Mr. Zink’s wishes, cremation will take place.
Private inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
