Letter: ‘Decals … on the police cars should be removed’

To the editor:

As a Subaru driver and Birkenstock walker, I believe how Nashville presents itself to the public is how it will “survive.” Should a public service as the police portray any message of controversy that might favor a particular belief, be it “Blue Lives Matter” or Black Lives Matter”?

The decals currently on the police cars should be removed. Even the decal I have on my Subaru, “I’d rather be hiking!” would have no place on a public vehicle.

Yes, Mr. Medlyn encourages “building formative relationships,” so let’s get rid of symbols that cause controversy. Let’s be the welcoming community that keeps Nashville and Brown County the very special place we all love.
