Martin Louis ‘Marty’ Douglas, Jr., age 30 passed away all too soon on Wednesday evening, March 10, 2021. He was a resident of Brown County.

Marty was born Dec. 5, 1990 in Franklin and was a 2009 graduate of Brown County High School. He was employed as a Set-Up Tech for NTN Driveshaft in Columbus. Marty enjoyed the outdoors by hunting, fishing and camping with his family at Brown County State Park. His true passion was his love for his family, especially his three children, Kaylynn, Joey and Skylar.

Marty is survived by his loving wife, Alyssa M. (Tieken) Douglas, whom he married on Nov. 3, 2012 in Morgantown. He is also survived by his parents, Martin L. & Brenda (Riddle) Douglas Sr. of Brown County; children, Kaylynn, Joey and Skylar Douglas; siblings, Dorothy Kay (Loretta) Scott of Helmsburg and Russ (Autumn) Scott of Bloomington; paternal grandmother, Mary Ann (Dick) McCory of Nineveh; in-laws, Steve & Susan Tieken of Indianapolis; sister in law, Brittany (Sam Carter) Tieken of Indianapolis; aunts, Zelda Cheek of Montana & Joy Sipe of Beech Grove; uncles, Jerry (Sharon) Riddle of Greenwood & Steve (Val) Douglas of Columbus; nephews, Seth Scott and Ethan Harden, both of Brown County; niece, Nikki Harden of Brown County; cousins, Steve, Marlena & Brandon, all of Montana, Kevin Sipe of Indianapolis and Rachel (Daniel) Barnes of Brown County; and his two dogs, Rusty & Benjamin.

Marty was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wilbern & Dorothy Riddle; and a paternal grandfather, Virgil Douglas.

Friends and family are welcome to a visitation on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.

In lieu of flowers, the family strongly encourages memorial contributions be sent in honor of Marty to the Brown County Humane Society, PO Box 746 Nashville, IN 47448.

Abigail is a Brown County native dedicated to the community in which she has been raised. She joined the Brown County Democrat newsroom in 2019 while studying English at IUPUC, where she graduated in May 2020.
