VAN BUREN TWP. — A 16-year-old Brown County boy was flown to a hospital on March 20 after he crashed head-on into a tree.

Around 8:30 a.m., Wyatt Frist was driving north on Grandview Road on his way to work when he overcorrected as he was coming off a curve, an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Bowling states. The teen’s 1985 GM truck ran off the road and struck a tree head-on.

The teen was unconscious when police and EMS arrived. He was not wearing a seat belt and had a severe head injury, the report states.

Bowling noted unsafe speed, overcorrecting and running off the road as contributing circumstances to the crash.

The vehicle he was driving was towed due to disabling damage.
