<strong>Christy A. Crandall,</strong> the daughter of <strong>Barbara S. Sumner Crandall</strong>, of Tuck Away Ridge Road and a 1977 graduate of Brown County High School, received her doctorate degree in environmental science from Florida A&amp;M University in Tallahassee, Florida, on April 23.

Her dissertation topic was "Increasing freshwater availability in forests of the Northern Gulf Coast Region." She developed a method to identify and prioritize areas for hydrologic restoration to maximize freshwater in forests of the region. The method will be used by forest managers throughout the Gulf Coast area.

Crandall wrote that she "looks forward to spending more time in Brown County in the future and putting her skills to use in preserving Indiana forests and wildlands."

<strong>Alexandria Elizabeth Kesterson</strong> will graduate from the University of Florida, College of Medicine with a doctor of philosophy in medical sciences – microbiology and immunology on April 29. She is the daughter of <strong>Keith</strong> and <strong>Christy Kesterson</strong>.
