HONORS: Bickley, McPheeters, Riehl and Porter

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education has awarded 200 scholarships to the fifth class of Next Generation Hoosier Educators, including Brown County High School student Megan Bickley.

Recipients receive $7,500 annually, up to $30,000 total, for committing to teach in Indiana for at least five years after graduating college.

To qualify for the scholarship, students had to either graduate in the highest 20 percent of their high school class or earn a score in the top 20th percentile on the SAT or ACT. To continue earning the scholarship in college, students must earn a 3.0 cumulative GPA and complete at least 30 credit hours per year.

Jackson McPheeters

EVANSVILLE — Brown County High School graduate Jackson McPheeters of Freetown was among the University of Evansville students who earned dean’s list honors for the spring 2021 semester. To merit the honor, a student must carry a full academic load of 12 hours or more and earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or above.

McPheeters is studying exercise science.

Christopher Riehl, Christopher Porter

MANCHESTER, NH — Southern New Hampshire University named students to the winter 2021 President’s List, including Christopher Riehl of Nashville and Christopher Porter of Morgantown. Full-time students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 and above are named to the President’s List.
