CORDRY-SWEEWATER — A 27-year-old Franklin woman was treated at the scene of a crash on June 17 after a vehicle crossed the center line and struck her.

The crash was reported just after 4:30 p.m. on Nineveh Road near the Center Lake Road intersection, according to an accident report by Sgt. Jimmy Green.

Charley Thompson, 61, of Brown County, was driving south on Nineveh Road and rounded a curve. He told police that he may have lost consciousness and crossed the center line. He then struck the driver’s side of a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Savannah Bowers of Franklin before striking a tree, the report states.

Thompson told officers he had recent medical issues, but that he had been cleared to drive.

Bowers told the officers that she was driving north on Nineveh Road when she noticed Thompson’s vehicle had crossed the center line into her lane of travel. She said she was unable to avoid the crash.

Bowers was treated at the scene for pain in her knee/lower leg/foot. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Both vehicles were towed.
