Lions grant applications open through June 30

The Brown County Lions Club is prepared to receive grant applications from organizations to fund special projects, not routine operating expenses. Grant applications must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, June 30 to be considered.

Forms can be obtained by contacting the Brown County Lion Club, P.O. Box 716, Nashville, IN 47448 or visiting the Lions Club website at e-clubhouse.org/sites/browncounty. The Grants Committee will review all applications during July with allocations to be made in mid-August.

Recovery group meeting three times a month

A Twelve Step-based recovery group has three meeting times and locations in the county.

The group meets at the following times and locations:

  • Brown County Community Church, 2370 W. Main St. in Helmsburg, first Fridays, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
  • Heart of Christ Ministries, 5181 State Road 46 East, first and third Tuesdays, 6:30 to 8 p.m.
  • Faith Full Gospel Church, 6681 State Road 135 North, second and fourth Tuesdays, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Dinner is provided and childcare is available.

Weekly food pantry open at local church

GNAW BONE — The Pentecostals, 60 Mount Liberty Road, have a food pantry open every Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information, call 812-200-3136.
