By 8 p.m., at least four Brown County fire departments as well as first responders from Bartholomew County were still on scene along State Road 46 East as the remainder of the structure smoked. Some partial walls remained standing, but the building, except for the stone chimney, appeared to be a total loss.

The property includes this building as well as tarped booths known as Gypsy Moon flea market. The sign next to the building that burned read Gnaw Bone Antiques and Uniques.

Information on the cause of the fire was not immediately available.

The building was owned by Charlie and Debbie Wright. They were renting it to a tenant, who was at the laundromat at the time and lost everything.

Debbie Wright said she was volunteering at The Pentecostals food pantry when she went outside and saw smoke and flames. The couple has owned the property for about six years, including all the vendor spots. One of those tenants lost items in their space due to heat melting them.
