VAN BUREN TWP. — An Indianapolis couple was injured in a motorcycle crash on State Road 135 South earlier this month. The newsroom received the accident report this week.

The crash was reported near Hamilton Creek Road on July 18 just after 4 p.m., according to an accident report by Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy William Pool.

Volunteer firefighters with the Southern Brown Volunteer Fire Department were treating passenger Tammy Young, 56. Young had a severe ankle injury and road rash. The driver, 64-year-old Donald Young, reported having some chest pain along with road rash on his back and left arm, the report said.

Donald Young told Pool he was driving north on 135 South when his motorcycle went off the side of the road while coming around a corner. He was unable to get the motorcycle back on the road before it spun sideways, throwing the couple from the bike, the accident report states.

The couple was taken to a hospital for further treatment. The motorcycle was towed. Both were wearing helmets.
