A Brown County High School student recently donated $900 to Mother’s Cupboard.

Junior Mary Rygiel presented a check for $900 to Mother’s Cupboard Food Pantry on Oct. 6, after organizing and hosting a homecoming dance for fellow students at Salt Creek Golf Course this year.

The school was unable to put on a homecoming dance due to COVID-19 restrictions, so Rygiel took part in organizing an off-site event. All proceeds were donated to Mother’s Cupboard.

Rygiel plays varsity volleyball and is a varsity cheerleader who plans to graduate high school early this year and attend Indiana University next year.
