Veterans meetings

Veterans service organizations of Brown County have various meetings throughout the month, all meeting at Veterans Hall, 902 Deer Run Lane. The Veterans Hall is a government facility and is alcohol free.

Vietnam Veterans of Brown County meet on first Wednesdays. The next meeting is Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.

Veterans of Foreign Wars meet on second Thursdays. The next meeting is Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.

American Legion meets on third Wednesdays. The next meeting is Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.

Woodworkers Club

The Brown County Woodworkers Club will meet Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. at the Brown County Library, 205 Locust Lane. This is the club’s annual show and tell meeting.

Rotary Club

The Brown County Rotary Club has a new member.

Brown County Schools Superintendent Emily Tracy was recently inducted as a Rotary member. Tracy began working as the superintendent in August. Tracy and her family currently live in Indianapolis, but are searching for a house in Brown County.

Before working for Brown County Schools, Tracy served as the director of curriculum and instruction for Wabash City Schools. She also served as interim superintendent there.

Bald Eagles

The Brown County Bald Eagles will host their Pearl Harbor remembrance on Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Brown County Inn, 51 State Road 46 East. Meet and greet will start at 11 a.m. and a buffet lunch at noon. The meal will be $22 cash or check paid at the door.

David Newill, a board member of the Indiana Aviation Hall of Fame, will present the eight recent selectees for the class of 2021.

The Brown County Bald Eagles have been meeting twice a year around D-Day (June 6) and Pearl Harbor Day (Dec. 7) for over 30 years. The group is made up of active duty military and veterans and others who have an interest in aviation and aviation history. The public is invited, dress is casual.
