VETERANS’ CORNER: What you should know heading into the new year

0

December 2021 is here! Last month of the year and we are going strong. I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving with your family and friends.

Indiana veterans legislation

We have some legislative work being done in preparation for Legislative Day, which is going to be on Jan. 10. We are informing you of this very important day because there are many bills in the works in regards to our veterans.

Please visit www.veteranlegislativeday.org to learn more about Indiana Military Veterans Legislative Day for more information about the particular bills being put forth.

Our office desires to be a voice for Brown County to our representatives, so any input about legislative issues you would like for us to go to with your representatives, please feel free to contact our office to give us your thoughts.

State benefits for veterans

Did you know that there is a Military Family Relief Fund that assists Veterans who are experiencing a genuine financial hardship?

You can visit www.in.gov/dva/about-idva/links/military-family-relief-fund/ or you can contact our office for more information.

We also have pamphlets available at the Brown County Veterans Service Office located in the Veterans Hall at 902 Deer Run Lane.
