A Poem
I writ a poem
in my sleep last night
it was dang near
perfect it was writ
just right.
i used short words
that you could read
left out the
punctuation that a
poem don’t need.
As far as I’m
concerned and in my
mind
a poem ain’t a poem
if the words don’t rhyme.
You can see by the
words and the way that
they rhyme The story
they tell
in just a few lines.
if you read what i say
and see the scope of
my wit i know you’ll
enjoy
this poem that i writ.
