Jackie “Jack” Lee Harden

Jackie “Jack” Lee Harden, age 87 passed away peacefully on Monday morning March 28, 2022 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. He was a resident of Brown County.

Jack was born Oct. 14, 1934 in Brown County to his parents, the late Thurman and Martha “Avis” (McKinley) Harden. He was a 1952 graduate of Brown County High School and ran a construction company for several years. In 1972, Jack became the owner and operator of Brown County Stone Quarry and continued to work, alongside his family, until his passing.

Jack was a member of the Eagles Lodge #1085 in Bloomington. He enjoyed visiting with his grandkids, listening to country music and was a talented poet. He also enjoyed line dancing and was an instructor at Mike’s Dance Barn in Brown County for several years. Faith was important to Jack and everyday he spent a great deal of time reading his Bible. Jack will be remembered most for his love of family and unyielding faith in God.

He will be missed by his children, Kevin (Staci) Harden, Julia Russell and Jack E. Harden all of Nashville; grandchildren, Lisa Marie (Kyle) Reynolds, Amanda (Idris Harris) Harden, Erin (Shane Hobbs) Harden, Tabitha Harden, Jessica (Chris DuPlaintis) Harden, James Russell and Jacquelyn “Gracie” (David) Hoffman; 6 great grandchildren and a sister, Mary Jane Terkhorn.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brenda Harden; and siblings, William Harden, Dorval Schrougham, Avis Harden and Kenneth Harden.

Pastor Ken Smith will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 31 at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Duncan Cemetery in Brown County.
