Police blotter for week of April 6

Driver transported after crash on 46

A driver was transported to the hospital with injuries after a single-vehicle crash on State Road 46 West last week.

Local police, Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department, Hamblen Township Volunteer Fire Department, Ambulance 231 and a wrecker all responded to the scene of an accident around 11:30 a.m. on March 31.

Callers advised of a white vehicle that flipped two times and was off the road near Treatment Plant Road just outside of Nashville.

Once on scene, Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Austin Schonfeld found the driver of the vehicle trapped in the car. The driver, 21-year-old Jared Sandusky from Pittsboro, was freed by firefighters.

Sandusky reportedly told police he had been driving all day and must have become drowsy. He said his tires went off of the road and he was unable to gain control of the vehicle.

He was transported to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital with “incapacitating” injuries, according to the accident report. Brown County Tire towed the vehicle.
