This year the meet featured six teams: Bloomington North Lawrence, Greensburg, Columbus East, Heritage Christian, Providence and Brown County.

That team includes Jacob Finley, Carter Condon, Eli Webb and Aaron Woodrum, according to boys track and field Coach Kirk Wrightsman.

The first victory of the day for the Eagles was when distance medley relay took the track.

“Rafe Silbaugh started the Eagles off with a solid 1200 leg, Waylon Patrick followed with one of his fastest 400 splits, Rhett Silbaugh used an aggressive first lap to put the Eagles firmly ahead and Chase Austin was able to keep the distance on second place as he ran a strong 1600 leg for the Eagles,” Wrightsman said.

”Patrick came back a few minutes later to lead of the 4×400 relay team. He and his team of Shugars, Finley and Eli Webb picked up a fourth place in that event.”

One of the regular running events of the day was the 3200. Charlie Webb took home fourth place and Case Smith finished seventh.

The Eagles finished fifth in the 4×200 (Condon, Garrett Braden, Woodrum and Spiece). In the sprint medley, Cameron Higgins joined Braden, Woodrum and Spiece to finish fourth.

“It was a great finish to the day on the track for the Eagles as the 4×800 team of Rafe Silbaugh, Patrick, Rhett Silbaugh and Austin brought home first place in the 4×800,” Wrightsman said.

There were a lot of points scored in the field events for the Eagles on Saturday.
