Stephen “Steve” Christopher Provenza

Beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, Stephen “Steve” Christopher Provenza, 55, passed away suddenly and way too soon, Saturday, June 18, 2022, in Nashville, Ind.
Steve was born to Victor Patrick Provenza and Susan Louise (Hartley) Wetherington, on June 11, 1967, in St. Augustine, Fla. He grew up riding his bike up and down Anastasia Island, fishing and finding “trouble” wherever it was hiding. We all knew and loved his infectious smile and laugh.
He graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1985, where he played multiple sports, with football being his passion. He went on to join the Army National Guard Special Forces and soon became a paramedic for St. Johns County Rescue. He would later go on to become a physician assistant after earning a bachelor of science degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in 2001. He practiced at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, Fla., before moving to Indiana, where he was a successful entrepreneur, as well as a physician assistant at Greenwood Pain Management in Greenwood, Ind.
He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, saltwater fishing, traveling and anything that might be considered an adventure. He was a brilliant physician assistant with countless patients and co-workers who will miss him greatly.
Anyone who knew Steve more than a few minutes, knew of his love for Florida Gators’ football. They would also know how dangerous it could be to be within a 2-mile radius of him and his dad when the Gators were playing. GO GATORS!!
Steve leaves behind a loving wife, Jennifer Lynn Cook, and their precious son, Vincent Patrick Provenza, as well as his in-laws, Paul and Isabel Cook, all of Nashville, Ind.
He is preceeded in death by grandparents, Patrick Victor Provenza and Virgil and Sarah Francis Hartley.
He is also survived by; beloved grandmother, Anna Provenza, 99, St. Augustine, Fla.; sister, Jill Patrice (Provenza) Bronaugh (Tom), Topeka, Kan.; niece, Hannah (Bronaugh) Hall (Will), Topeka, Kan.; and two nephews, Patrick and Nicholas Bronaugh, Topeka, Kan.; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends, who loved him dearly.
