Jeffrey Scott Atwood

Jeffrey Scott Atwood, 67, of Nashville, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at University Hospital in Indianapolis after a brief illness. Jeff was born July 27, 1954, in Bloomington and was the son of the late John Thomas “Tom” and Barbara M. (Brinegar) Atwood.
Jeff was a 1972 graduate of Bloomington High School where he played on the State Championship football team. Jeff then went on to graduate from Vincennes University and began a 39-year career with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources where he served first Johnson County and then 35 years in Brown County as a Conservation Officer. Jeff loved being a Conservation Officer and it was evident in his work and his dedication in being a provider for everyone he came in contact with, especially his family. Jeff was also a farmer and loved to mow on his farm. He enjoyed hunting turkey, deer, beaver and just about animal you could think of. He was a history buff and enjoyed reading and loved all IU athletic events. The love of Jeff’s life was his family, especially his daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchild.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Pamela Atwood; daughters, Tiffany L. Jackson and Tabitha K. (Jonathan) Harwell; grandchildren, Jocelyn Bock and Grayson Harwell; great grandchild, Journey Bock; brother, Tracy Atwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Brenda Dillman.
Services for Jeff will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at the City Church For All Nations, 1200 N Russell Rd, Bloomington, IN 47408. Burial will follow the service at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington where he will be laid to rest next to his parents.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, July 20, 2022, from 10 a.m. until service time at the City Church For All Nations. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeff’s Memory to the Karl E. Kelley Memorial Youth Camp in care of The Funeral Chapel.
