Joyce E. Laudien, age 69 passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at her home in Nashville.
She was born May 8, 1953 in Gary, Indiana. Joyce was a 1971 graduate of Calumet High School and went on to attend Butler University to study Communications. While attending Butler she worked for the Indianapolis Star Newspaper and was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority.
Joyce worked as a Floral Designer for over 25 years in various flower shops, both in Indiana and Florida. She also worked as a Promotions Director for a shopping mall in Texas. Joyce enjoyed decorating, shopping, creative writing and talking about spending time with her beloved beagle mix, Sam. She also enjoyed traveling and vacationing in Cancun, Mexico and in Italy. While living in Florida, Joyce fell in love with the ocean and its beautiful beaches. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially around the holidays. Joyce was a fan of the Chicago Cubs & Oakland A’s Baseball and always looked forward to the Men’s NCAA March Madness. Most importantly, she felt at home living in Nashville and making many friends with the residents at Hawthorne Hills Apartments. Joyce always had a smile and cared deeply for her family and friends. She will be missed by all she loved.
She is survived by her sister, Janet (husband, Terry) Norman of Nashville; nephews, Patrick Norman (spouse, Katie) and Grant Norman (partner, Rachelle VanBuskirc); great nieces, Elle, Annie and Leighton Norman; great nephew, Jay Norman; aunts, Sylvia Laubecher; cousins, Cindy, Laura, and Rick Devin, Eric & Michael Laubecher.
Joyce was preceded in death by her father, Helmut Laudien; mother, Ruth (Laubecher) Laudien-Corman; stepfather, Glen Corman; uncles, Ralph Laubecher & Richard Devin; and aunt, Gretel Devin.
In keeping with Joyce’s wishes, she will be cremated and no services are planned at this time. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
