Vicki A. Silverthorne Norris

Vicki A. Silverthorne Norris, 71, of Columbus passed away on Aug. 7, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born on Feb. 22, 1951, to the late Emmett and Ruth Silverthorne, in Indianapolis Indiana. She married William L. Norris on October 3, 1987; he survives her.
Vicki was a very devoted, independent, and passionate individual who was very loyal to her family and friends. She enjoyed animals, bargaining, going to garage sales, and all genres of music, but especially classical. She was a graduate of Indiana University where she obtained her Bachelor of Nursing Degree. Though, she went on to do many special jobs. Vicki worked as a radio broadcaster for 18 years (Sunni Robinson), as well as a Sheriff’s Deputy for 6 years. Most of her life was spent as a floral designer. Among the wonderful and caring life that Vicki led, she was also a fighter. Vicki was the longest-living kidney patient at IU without intervention.
Vicki is survived by her soulmate and spouse, William Norris, of Columbus; and cousins, Randy Turley, of Zionsville, Westley Turley, of Brownsburg, and Lauren Turley, of Brownsburg.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Emmett W. Silverthorne, and Ruth B. Trulock Silverthorne, and a sister, Judy Silverthorne.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial donations to the Purdue Foundation through the Jackman Animal Clinic at 700 E. Main Street, Milroy, IN 46156.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date and will take place at New Hope Christian Church.
