Sheila Ann Lucas, 84, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022 at I.U. Health, Bloomington Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 13, 1937 in Bartholomew County to Kenneth Clair Carmichael and Leila Jewel Waggoner Carmichael.
She was a retired Farm Service Specialist with the FSA where she spent years working with fellow farmers. She spent years on her own farm working alongside her husband and was always known to be “in the field” when he was. Sheila was passionate about her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and Jack enjoyed their later years in Florida and one of their great joys was having all the kids come down and see them. Sheila enjoyed quilting and made an array of baby blankets over the years.
Sheila is survived by her three children: JD (Tressia) Lucas, Suzette (Jeff) Swain, Aimee (Rick) Browning, five grandchildren: Jared (Gretchan) Lucas, Becca (Matt) Neiswinger, Danielle (Robert) Leturgez, Chad (Rachel) Lucas and Olivia Browning, eight great grandchildren: Waylon Lucas, Addison, Nash and Grayson Neiswinger, Audrie, Emma, and Grahmn Sizemore and Bodie Lucas.
Sheila is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Lucas.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. in Parkview Church of the Nazarene. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service in the church with Reverend Stan Loutner officiating. Burial will be in Christiansburg Cemetery.
